Operations & Performance Consulting

Redesign processes, operating models and workflows to improve efficiency, accountability and scalability.

CAPABILITY

Revenue scales in a straight line. Complexity does not.

Almost every operational problem in a growing company has the same origin. The business is being run on an operating model designed for a smaller, simpler version of itself. Processes that worked when three people could coordinate verbally now require meetings, spreadsheets, follow-ups and rework. Cost rises faster than revenue. Cycle times lengthen. Quality becomes dependent on specific individuals. Leadership becomes the escalation point for decisions it should never see.

This is rarely a discipline problem or a people problem. It is a design problem. VILL works on the operating model itself — how work moves through the business, where decisions are made, what is measured, and where value is lost between functions. Cost reduction that comes from removing the cause of work is durable. Cost reduction that comes from removing capacity is temporary.

Questions we answer

  • Why does the cost base grow faster than revenue?
  • Where is margin leaking between quotation, delivery and invoicing?
  • Which processes create the most rework, delay or dependency on individuals?
  • What should our operating model look like at two or three times current volume?
  • Which activities should be standardized, which automated, and which eliminated entirely?
  • Why do we have data but no operational visibility?
  • What are the right KPIs, and who owns each one?
  • What has to be true operationally before we scale?

How we approach it

01

MAP

the actual process, not the documented one. The gap between them is usually where the problem lives.

02

QUANTIFY

the cost of the current state: cycle time, rework rate, cost-to-serve, utilization, leakage points.

03

DIAGNOSE

the constraint. Most operations have one binding bottleneck; improving anything else changes nothing.

04

REDESIGN

the process, the decision rights and the information flow together. Changing one without the others fails.

05

INSTRUMENT

the operation with a KPI tree that connects daily activity to financial outcome.

06

EMBED

the change through ownership, cadence and review, then measure against baseline.

What we deliver

  • End-to-end process maps with quantified bottlenecks and leakage points
  • Operating model blueprint for current and target scale
  • Cost structure analysis and prioritized optimization roadmap
  • KPI tree linking operational metrics to P&L outcomes
  • Management reporting and dashboard specification
  • Governance model: decision rights, escalation paths, review cadence
  • Implementation plan with owners, milestones and measurement baseline
